The State Council issued an action plan to peak carbon emissions by 2030. By 2030, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption should reach 25%. By 2025, the installed capacity of new energy storage will reach over 30 million kW, and by 2030, the total installed capacity of wind and solar power will reach over 1.2 billion kW. We should vigorously promote new energy vehicles and gradually reduce the proportion of traditional fuel vehicles in the production and marketing of new cars and car ownership.
(1) Promote the steel industry carbon peak. We will continue to reduce steel production capacity, focusing on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and its surrounding areas. Promote the structural optimization of the steel industry and the replacement of clean energy, vigorously promote the demonstration of non-blast furnace ironmaking technology, improve the recycling and utilization level of scrap steel resources, and promote the electric furnace process of all scrap steel.
(2) Promote the non-ferrous metal industry carbon peak. Accelerate the development of recycled non-ferrous metal industry, improve the network of recycling, sorting and processing of waste non-ferrous metal resources, and increase the output of recycled non-ferrous metals.
3) Resolutely curb the blind development of these projects. We will explore existing projects, move faster to shut down outdated production facilities, and tap the potential for energy conservation and emissions reduction through upgrading. We will strengthen regular supervision and take down those projects that do not meet the requirements.
