What is the difference between Galvanizing and Galvalume?

2020-12-04

Galvanizing is actually galvanizing.

So what is the difference between galvanizing and Galvalume?

The main difference between the two is that galvalume is a combination of zinc, aluminum and silicon, while galvanizing is composed of 100% zinc.

The three elements in the Galvalume coating consist of aluminum content slightly higher than 50%, zinc content slightly lower than 50%, and a trace amount of silicon.

The advantage of Galvalume over galvanized materials is its increased protection.

Over time, Galvalume will perform better than galvanized steel.

When steel is exposed to water or other liquids that can accelerate the oxidation process, Galvalume's advantages are obvious.

Even after decades, Galvalume steel will not rust like ordinary galvanized steel.

Galvalume also looks better than galvanized materials in appearance.
